If you’re a horror and/ or a shooter fan, chances are good you’re a fan of 4A Games Metro series. The last title in the series, Metro: Last Light isn’t going to be the last.
The team have announced they’re working on “unannounced titles within the Metro universe as well as further, unannounced projects”. To help facilitate this they’ve just opened up an office in Malta.
The 4A Games office set in Malta is there to help expand its Triple-A Development capabilities. That’s not to say that the Kiev office is losing any of its prestige – it’ll still be the functioning main office. A few of their team are moving to Malta. Andrew Prokhorov, who seves as both creative director and co-founder of 4A, will be alongside the chief technical officer Oles Shishkovstov in Malta.
Dean Sharpe from 4A (who is the companies CEO) said: “By basing our new headquarters in Malta, a member state of the EU, 4A Games will be able to better compete on the international stage. Malta offers fantastic incentives for game development, and we are confident 4A Games will be able to attract the very best talent from Ukraine, Malta and beyond.”
Prokhorov added his own two cents, “This marks the start of a new chapter for 4A Games. We are proud of our achievements as a young studio, and humbled by the response to our output so far. The team is looking forward to this new adventure.”
Best of luck to 4A Games. The last title in the Metro series was Last Light, available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 and looked stunning (particularly on a high spec PC), It’s a good bet their new title will focus on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
