If you’re a fan of the survival horror genre, you shouldn’t be any stranger to the Alone In The Dark game series. For those of you unfamiliar with the series, it’s generally referred to as the series that first coined the phrase “survival horror”, and until its fifth game in the series, which was simply titled Alone In The Dark, it was very well received.
Recently, a website went up for Alone In The Dark: Illumination which looks to be slated for a release in Autumn of this year. As far we know, the game is coming to Steam according the sites source code (provided below), but there is no indication as to which consoles (if any) the game will be coming to.
Oh yeah, for reference. Here’s the thing about AITD6 coming to Steam. They sort of put it on the website. Oops. pic.twitter.com/cZ3VJbzQrT

Back in 2008, Eden Games developed the fifth Alone In The Dark which was panned to the moon and back despite being a financial success. Since then, there hasn’t been a peep from Atari about anything concerning the series, until today.
With upcoming games like The Evil Within, the recently announced Silent Hills, the rumored Resident Evil: Revelations 2 and rumored RE: Enhanced Veronica, and, now, Alone In The Dark: Illumination, we could be looking at a resurgence in the survival horror genre, but one can only hope that it will be a return to the ways of old instead just a repeat of last gen.
For those of you who want to look into the previous games in the AITD series, you can find AITD 1-3 and The New Nightmare on Good Old Games, and you can find Alone In The Dark (2008) on PC, PS2, PS3, Wii, and 360.
