Analysis Predicts Next Generation of Consoles will ‘Sell Badly’

What are peoples thoughts on this? Are we going to see poor performance in sales for the next generations of consoles life? This isn’t the first time I’ve read / heard analysis predicting doom and gloom for the console industry.
Piper Jaffray says Xbox 720 will get to 5.6 million units by the end of 2015. This is far than what Microsoft would like to sell, and places the Wii U at 7 million units between now to through the 2013 holiday season.
