Recently, we covered the fairly extensive leak of information regarding the as yet unannounced Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok. At the time we discussed how the source for this information was… questionable, and now an industry analyst has debunked these rumours.
The industry analyst and insider is a name that is pretty well known – ZhugeEx, and they have stated that most of the information in the recent leak was incorrect. They even went so far as to say that most of it was an educated guess based on what Kotaku reported last year.
The analyst posted these statements on the ResetEra forums, saying “For what it’s worth. All of the new AC leaks so far have been incorrect. It’s not even called Ragnarok. Sure. Some of the details are right. Like improved combat or whatever. But in general, they’re not that accurate.”
Now obviously, this isn’t from the mouths of Ubisoft themselves, but given this insider’s history, I think most are more willing to believe them over some random 4Chan post. I stated multiple times in my original article that the source for this information made the leak shaky at best, and while we will have to wait and see what Ubisoft have in store, it seems that we can reasonably assume that the most recent leaks for the game are not accurate.
