Some rather unsurprising news here, EA has officially confirmed that Battlefield 4 is in development.
This confirmation came about when it was revealed that those who pre-order Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited Edition will gain exclusive access to the Battlefield 4 beta. The beta will become available in autumn of 2013, EA has said, so it’s still quite a while away. There will be additional details revealed about the game at a later date, although I doubt EA will announce anything all that surprising about this one.
The news about the upcoming beta was first leaked via EA’s Origin store earlier this week, and I very much doubt that the news came as a shock to anyone. Battlefield 3 was hugely successful, with it shifting over 12 million copies in it’s first month.
EA Labels president Frank Gibeau, said this about the pre-order news – “Though Battlefield and Medal of Honor Warfighter each offer players a completely unique experience, they are united by their underlying technology base – Frostbite. These are two of the hottest shooters, coming together to deliver a one-two punch of action, intensity and shooter entertainment.”
Medal of Honor: Warfighter is out in Europe on October 26.
