As you have probably heard by now, Battlefield 4 will be getting some DLC in the form of the Naval Strike DLC pack.
As you can probably guess from the name, Naval Strike is an expansion focused on water based combat and is bringing a number of new weapons and vehicles to the table, as well as a few maps. You can see some in game screenshots for the maps, which are Lost Islands, Wave Breaker, Nansha Strike and Operation Mortar, here.
Now, as you can see from the leaked images in the gallery below, the new maps each bring an awful lot of open space. This open space is, obviously, all water. So you will have to find ways of traversing that water, either by sea or by air, in order to seek out your opponents. This usage of the open water will be the most obvious in the new Carrier Assault mode, which is a new spin on the Titan mode from Battlefield 2142.
These maps are obviously going to see a huge variance in gameplay style to the more standard maps, and I think will bring an interesting new element to the meta of the multiplayer. ou can find the map layout screenshots in the gallery below.
