As some of you may know, Lee Perry, who was the gameplay designer for the Gears of War franchise, has his own studio – BitMonster Games. That studio has recently announced a mobile game by the name of Lili which is powered by the Unreal Engine 3.
The studio has also recently revealed that it has scored itself an “”exclusive, long-term Unreal Engine licensing deal” which will enable them to use the powerfu l software to create a number of titles.
Lili, which is the studio’s first effort so far, has been described as a “quirky adventure RPG hybrid developed for Apple’s world-class gaming devices”. We also have some nice details about the game. Supposedly, it will be set on an island called Geos, where Lili can interact with “crazy folk” as well as “explore beautiful environments and even challenge an oppressive regime or two along her way”.
BitMonster is also saying that they will be implementing a “non-combat system” (whatever that may mean) which Lili will use to deal with her enemies and also apparently, “in her introspective way, sorts out a few personal issues for good measure”.
Perry, who is serving as the President over at BitMonster said,””Epic has been extremely supportive of our new studio and in helping us build the game of our dreams,
“Epic has been extremely supportive of our new studio and in helping us build the game of our dreams, we set out to create an adventure that is appropriate for nearly anyone. As a designer, it’s exciting to see that the Unreal Engine 3 tools are better than ever, and they provide everything we need to achieve a gratifying and imaginative experience.”
There is no release date for this title just yet, but it is apparently in the final stages of production so hopefully this will be hitting iOS devices soon. If you want a look see at this unusual sounding title, check out the teaser below.
