Although we are currently in a trend of development extension within the game industry, by an average half a year, I was shocked to see this morning’s announcement of Bloodborne being pushed back by only just over 6 weeks, from February 6th 2015 to March 24 in North America and March 27 in the UK.
The announcement was made made early this morning by Producer, Sony Computer Entertainment Studio, Masaaki Yamagiwa via the PlayStation Blog with the following reason for the delay:
“Hi everyone. As many of you know, earlier this year we announced that our forthcoming PS4 game, Bloodborne, would launch in February 2015. Unfortunately, I’m here today to announce a short delay to the release date, as we need more time to deliver you the best possible final experience.”
Looks like many developers are seeing the urgency of shipping a more solid game on day one and pushing deadlines back is one positive sign things are being fine-tuned for the best.
Yamagiwa goes on to say we will be seeing some exciting Bloodborne news coming in early December.
