Treyarch have assured the PC community they’ve no intention of letting them down, assuring not only will CoD Black Ops 3 ship with the all important FoV slider, but it’ll fully support dedicated servers too.
Treyarch have a history doing a great job with the PC builds of Call of Duty, and after the criticisms level at CoD Ghosts (developed by Infinity Ward) for both poor performance and missing FoV slider (eventually patched in) the developers have taken to Twitter and confirmed they’ll make no such mistake with BO3.
“BlackOps3 PC will use 100% dedicated servers for all ranked matches. (Same as previous BlackOps PC titles.) This is how we do it” says PC dev on Twitter, much to the happiness of hundreds of followers.

This is great news for the more competitive players in the CoD community, eliminating host advantages and ensuring a nice even playing field. They certainly wasn’t stopping there, pointing out they’d keep up the same tradition of other Black Ops titles: “BlackOps3 will ship with an adjustable FOV slider. (Same as previous BlackOps PC titles.)”

But what about the pesky frame rate questions? In the age of 144HZ monitors, what type of caps will there be? Well, in Multiplayer (where many would argue frame rate is the most important), the developers are currently thinking of making the limit the same as Black Ops 2, which was 200 frames per second. For single player modes, the frame rate will be be limited only by your PC hardware. “I don’t like FPS caps on PC, unless necessary for balance or server performance in ranked matches… BlackOps2 = uncapped in SP/ZM, max 200 in MP. It’s too early to say what we can do in BlackOps3, but that’s my thinking on the topic.”

“For players on high-end rigs there are feature-rich options for them. You’ve invested in your rig, you want to be able to turn on all those options and play all maxed out.”
Naturally, we’ll cover how the title ends up playing on a variety of different PC hardware, and put out a nice face-off versus both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One builds to see how they all stack up against one another.
