This is one piece of news that didn’t make many front pages, but it’s certainly interesting. Ben Kilgore who served as corporate vice president of Xbox program management has officially left Microsoft to serve at Blizzard. He’s taken on the job role of chief technology officer at Blizzard according to his Linkedin profile.
Kilgore’s previous role was “Responsible for development of Xbox One client platform including operating system, development tools, and platform user experience”. He was also reported to be one of the chief architects of the Xbox One console which included overseeing the development of Kinect alongside the New Xbox Experience.
Meanwhile Blizzard itself has been busy with a multitude of different games and technology – right now it’s pushing out the new expansion to World of Warcraft (Warlords of Draenor), working on Hearth Stone and of course the upcoming StarCraft 2 Expansion.
There’s nothing to suggest that Ben Kilgore left the Xbox division with any negative feelings, and it would appear he’s simply taking a logical step in his career.
