After what seems like an age, Valve have finally confirmed the release date for their latest in the Counter-Strike franchise. As I’m sure you know, it has been in a closed beta (and if you haven’t seen our coverage – shame on you!) but it looks set to finally reach us on August 21st.
Valve has mentioned an August release for the title before, but this announcement not only narrows it down to the exact day, but also confirms the previously mentioned $15 price tag.
Counter-Strike has, up until this point, been a strict PC exclusive, but Global Offensive will change that with it’s simultaneous multiplatform release. It will, of course, be available through PSN and XBLA as well as Steam. I’m sure every one of you out there who was not lucky enough to get into the beta is feeling the excitement for this one, and I for one and am glad to see it finally heading towards the public eye where it belongs.
