Sony has officially revealed that Destiny will be the first PS4 title to feature automatic pre-loading.
According to information on the official support page, any Playstation 4 owner with the system firmware 1.70 and upwards can enable automatic downloads. If you enable this feature, when you have pre ordered a game, you can expect them to “pre-load onto the PS4 shortly before the release date.”
The rest of the support page entry clearly names Destiny as the first title to allow pre loading on the Playstation 4.
“Beginning with Destiny, certain pre-ordered titles can be automatically be pre-loaded prior to their release. This lets you rest easy knowing that your game will be ready for play the second its release date hits.”
As you can probably guess from the wording of this article, you can only do this for games which are designated to support the pre-load option. Unfortunately it seems that Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs will not be among them.
