Blizzard’s new Expansion for Diablo 3, Reaper of Souls is available right now for background download. Of course, you’ll not be able to play Reaper of Souls until the expansions official release date, but this pre-load will save time in the long run.
Blizzard have stated on their official website:
“The download will be around 6GB in size and include things like models, textures, art files, and other upcoming content in patch 2.0.1 and Reaper of Souls that is already complete. By making this data available early, you’ll have leass to download once the pre-expansion patch and expansion are released.
The background download data is encrypted and won’t make any changes to the live game or Battle.net service until patch 2.0.1 and Reaper of Souls launch. In the meantime, you will be able play Diablo III as normal, and your in-game experience should remain unaffected by the download itself.”
We already know some of the details of Reaper of Souls, including the raised level cap (now at 70), the introduction of the Crusader class, new enemies, dungeons and more stuff to explore. Players will get to enjoy the new loot system, new class abilities, along with new features such as Adventure mode.
The expansion was announced back in August 2013, after a series of rumors. Reaper of Souls will be released on March 25th, for Windows and Macintosh. So what are you waiting for, download Reaper of Souls in the background while you slay some enemies in preparation for the D3 release.
