The classic 2D shooter Duke Nukem 2 will be coming to iOS, thanks to 3D Realms and Interceptor Entertainment.
The re-release of this classic title marks the 20th anniversary since it’s original release back in the dark days of 1993. As veterans will know, Duke Nukem 2 is a side scrolling shooter / action game, and was were Duke made his name before exploding into the public gaming eye with Duke Nukem 3D.
The iPhone / iPad release (which will be available only to Apple’s iOS 6 users) will contain 32 levels of 2D side scrolling shoot em up action, as well as (hopefully good) touch screen controls, new artwork as well as the ability to save / load your game and post your score via online leaderboards.
There’s no word on a price yet, sadly, but I would imagine that it will be fairly cheap. So if you’re looking for a real blast from the past and a trip down nostalgia alley, it may be worth checking out this re release of Duke Nukem 2.
