While many people, including myself, would prefer a proper remake of Morrowind the ESO expansion is the next best thing. Today, we got the very first gameplay trailer for the Elder Scrolls Online expansion, as well as some nostalgia-inducing screenshots.
What’s nice, as well, is that thanks to the One Tamriel update that was made last year, you can jump straight to the Morrowind content as a new player. So, if revisiting the familiar locale is enough to get you to try the game, you don’t have to slog through the other content if you don’t want to.
Despite the game being 700 years before the events of Elder Scrolls 3, we can still see some familiar locations in the trailer, which is sure to get your nostalgia gland into a tizzy. The expansion is launching on June 6 across PC, PS4 and Xbox One. For new players you can get the game and the expansion for $59.99, but for those already invested, the DLC will cost at least $39.99.
I will admit, the trailer and images that were released today are tasty enough to tempt me into giving this MMO a try.
