For ages, fans were asking Square Enix to put the long awaited Final Fantasy 15 on PC. This was repeatedly teased by Tabata, but soon our wishes are coming true as FF15 is out on PC on March 6th.
Naturally, however, as this is a triple A game it is already available for pre order. While each platform (Steam, Origin or Window Store) has it’s own pre order bonuses, the one for the Windows Store is the most interesting.
As detailed on the Windows Store listing for Final Fantasy 15, only this version will allow cross platform play with players on the Xbox One. You can see the various other benefits below:
For console players, you may recall that the ability to have co-op in the game was added in the Comrades DLC. However, as with most PC re-releases of console games, the Windows version does come with all the DLC bundled in.
While the addition of crossplay probably isn’t going to be enough for most to brave the mess that is the Windows Store, it is nice to see Microsoft offering this to players and at least attempting to make the Store somewhat worth it.
Regaardless of which digital platform you choose, it is very exciting to finally be getting Square Enix’s JRPG on the PC platform. Especially since recently, there have been comments from Tabata about the amount of work put into the PCÂ version.
He said many times prior to the comfirmation of the PC release that they wouldn’t want FF15 on PC to just be a port, and in the video below he confirms that that is exactly the case. Apparently, the version we are getting was made from the ground up for this platform. Personally, I can’t wait.
