After the very well received reveal at E3 some years ago, the wait is almost over for the Final Fantasy 7 remake. So far, we have seen a fair bit from Square Enix in terms of scripted trailers, as well as a nice look at how the gameplay will actually, well, play.
But now, a demo for game has leaked onto the interwebs. This in itself is a reveal, as previous to this we didn’t know that Square were planning to release a demo for the FF7 remake. But apparently, the demo has files inside which gives spoilers on the final game.
I made a point of putting it in the title, but I’ll say it again – none of these spoilers are in this article.
But, I will say that the files gives information on what will apparently be in the final version of the game – this includes bosses, characters, story elements and even areas. Interestingly, the demo also contains the full soundtrack. Now, obviously the story for the original is well known at this point, but who’s to say that Square haven’t changed some things? Personally, I’m staying far, far away from any threads talking about the demo as I want to experience the game as unspoilt as possible.
For those of you braver than me, though, videos of the demo are already available on Youtube which show the gameplay as well as the opening cinematic. Elsewhere on Reddit, Twitter and other dark corners of the internet, there will undoubtedly be a full recount of the files and what they have to show us.
The full game will release on March 3, 2020.
