The Five Nights at Freddys franchise has been printing money for creator Scott Cawthon on both Steam and mobile, but it may be expanding even further.
Scott Cawthon revealed that the insanely popular jump scare fest FNaF and it’s successors might come to console when responding to a question on the FNaF 4 Steam forums.
“It will happen. I’m talking with a few companies who are interested in doing console remakes of the original games.”
It’s hardly surprising that this is on the cards, as FNaF has been doing very well over the last couple of years, as long as you ignore the travesty that was FNaF world.
Although the gameplay of Five Nights is simple, what seems to have generated this huge following is the hidden lore. Underneath the Pewdie bait skin is an interesting and mysterious story that is still the subject of discussion.
Gameplay wise, I can see it working just fine on console, although the later games with their extra mechanics will need a little more fine tuning.
