For those who have been playing Soulcalibur Lost Swords, Bandai Namco has some bad news for you. The free to play title will be shutting down later this year.
Despite the fact that it did reasonably well with 2 million downloads, the service will be ending on November 30. Bandai will stop selling consumable items in the store on September 30, and the sale of all in-game items will cease by October 27.
There may be a silver lining, though, as when Bandai discussed the closure in a farewall video, they teased that more Soulcalibur is coming.
“Long live Soulcalibur. The warriors may fade, but their souls will ignite again.”
The last numbered game for Soulcalibur was Soulcalibur 5 back in 2012, so the time is definitely ripe for a proper sequel.
