Resizable BAR, which is probably better known under its AMD nomenclature Smart Access Memory, is something we have seen growing support for ever since AMD revealed that Ryzen 5000 would support it. Now, Nvidia partners GALAX and Gainward have expanded their resizable BAR support for several of the RTX 30 GPUs.
Both GALAX and Gainward are actually the first of Nvidia’s partners to update their vBIOS to support resizable BAR on the RTX 3090, RTX 3070, and RTX 3060 Ti GPUs.
Nvidia has also issued an official statement regarding the Founders Edition cards, stating that we will see support for all FE RTX 30 cards by the end of March.
They said, “Late March, NVIDIA will release downloadable VBIOS updates for all Founders Edition GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs to enable Resizable BAR, and likewise, partners will release VBIOS updates for their custom models, too.”
Pivoting back to AIBs though, EVGA has also put out a tweet stating that they are also planning on expanding their Resizable BAR support by next Tuesday (end of March).
