Valve’s eagerly anticipated Half Life 3 is apparently not going to be at Gamescom this year
If you have been awaiting news on the next installment of Valve’s Half Life series, you might well have longer to wait. Despite rumours, Half-Life 3 is not apparently not appearing at Gamescom 2012.
Today the internet went crazy as a rumour appeared showing that Half-Life 3 might well be scheduled for Gamescon 2012, but now it appears this is false, and Valve will not be showing off the game that just about every PC gamer out there is clambering for. The speculation made sense for many reasons, including (but not limited to) the reasonably successful Half-Life 3 fan campaign (which players of the series petitioned Valve’s Gabe Newell for any info for the game, either for Half-Life 3 OR Half-Life 2 Episode 3) but little came of it really.
Then there was the ‘quiet, perhaps too quiet’ stands of Valve during E3. Either way, it appears that Gamescon 2012 is not going to be the place Half Life 3 surfaces. Valve have a policy in place very much like Blizzard, the “when it’s done it’s done” and that can only be a good thing to make sure that the game is great, right? Well, in theory yes… but until then, we’ll just be screaming in frustration Mr. Newell!
