Just yesterday I was talking
about how Sony’s big reveal just had to be God of War 4, and it is now been revealed that I was right. Both a poster and a rather awesome teaser trailer appeared on Amazon today, not only confirming that God of War 4 is on it’s way, but that it will also be a prequel.
If you watch the trailer (which can be found below), it features the now very familiar voice of Gaia narrating, commenting on how Kratos was not always driven by such rage, and seems to be heavily insinuating that the new title will be set before Kratos became the Ghost of Sparta.
This choice makes perfect sense, as there’s not much Sony could have done afterGod of War 3, but I’m still wondering exactly when in Kratos’ life the game will be set. I personally think that it will start either just before or just after Kratos receives the Blades of Chaos from Ares, as the fighting style that Kratos uses with those weapons is one of the staples of the series and also what makes the combat so interesting, unique and satisfying.
This would make for quite an engaging story in my view, as we could even see more of Kratos’ wife and child, and his relationship with them as he continues conquering with the Spartan army.
Regardless of the details of the game, the trailer is very cool, and I eagerly await more information on Kratos’ next title.
