Are you fixated on the fact that if you currently have GTA V on a PS3 or Xbox 360, you will have to upgrade to the same platform in order to upgrade to keep all online progression, like all other upgrade packages from last-gen to current-gen? Or if you want the PC version, you will have to start from scratch? Well, you could be in luck.
Back at E3 2014, Rockstar announced the new, enhanced, version of GTA 5, coming to the latest generation consoles and PC. The latest instalment will let you admire the game all over again, with its new higher resolution, vastly improved visuals, better frame rate, and improved textures. Other additions include; new wildlife, higher density population, busier car traffic, etc..
See the below information from Steams PC listing regarding upgrades from last-generation consoles:
“All new content and gameplay created and released since the launch of ‘Grand Theft Auto Online’ including new Jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations will also be available in ‘Grand Theft Auto Online’ for PC. In addition, the current community of players will have the ability to transfer their ‘Grand Theft Auto Online’ characters and progression to their choice of PlayStation®4, Xbox One or PC.”
Going off the listed quote above, this means you will be able to choose which platform you wish to transfer you character and progression. So if you worried about picking up a PC copy due to loss of your previous online session, you need not worry!
This will, most likely, only be available for online progression. Single player story has not been mentioned in regards to transfer, but it’s highly unlikely that this will be possible. That’s a whole new kettle of fish!
Grand Theft Auto V for PC will also feature a video editor designed for advanced movie-making.
GTA V will be released before the 30th November. An actual release date has not yet been announced.
