A new report has surfaced that lends even more weight to the Halo 2 revival rumors that have been floating around. According to the information, a compilation of Halo 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be making it’s way to Xbox One.
As the title of this article suggests, the name of this rumored collection is Halo: The Master Chief Collection. This would obviously be the perfect timing for such a bundle to be released, as of course we just got a confirmation of Halo 5 Guardians release date.
What is rather interesting, though, is that according to the report Halo 3: ODST and Halo Reach will not be included in the collection. As normal, Microsoft has not confirmed or denied these rumors. Obviously, these aren’t the first rumblings we’ve had of a Halo 2 anniversary game, or next gen Halo appearances, and this combined with the reveal of Halo 5 leads me to believe this is most likely true.
If this collection exists, will it be a straight port over to X1, or will it be a full blown HD remaster, such as with many other titles that have made their way to next gen?
Unfortunately, we’re just going to have to wait for Microsoft to tell us how true this rumor is.
