As any Xbox One owner who bought the Halo: The Master Chief Collection can tell you, there have been nothing but problems with the online matchmaking since the game came out. Since it started, 343 Industries have been hard at work solving these issues and promised making it up to the fans. Today, they come through with the promise by announcing that consumers who bought the Halo: MCC up to today will receive the entire campaign of Halo 3: ODST for free along with other goodies. In the official announcement, this is what was stated:
To show our appreciation to the “Halo” community for their support and understanding as we worked through issues impacting “Halo: The Master Chief Collection”, we are offering free to all online users that have played “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” between Nov. 11, 2014 and Dec. 19, 2014 the following: 1-month of Xbox Live Gold, an exclusive in-game nameplate and avatar, as well as the campaign for “Halo 3: ODST” – remastered in 1080p and 60fps for Xbox One. Thanks to our friends at Bungie for creating the original “Halo 3: ODST” campaign.
In addition, a re-imagined version of the “Relic” multiplayer map for “Halo 2: Anniversary” will be released to all online users of “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” in a future content update.
While this may leave some people feeling like their left out in the cold believing that Halo 3: ODST is only exclusive to current Halo: MCC owners, it does go on to say that it will become available later as possible DLC for the MCC.
