Hitman seems to be doing rather well for itself, despite the controversy over it’s episodic release.
However, releasing a Triple A game this way isn’t without it’s pitfalls, and sadly there’s some bad news today. (But also some good!)
The bad news is that the Elusive Targets mode has been delayed until “closer to the planned release of the next episode”, which is in April.
To refresh your memory, Elusive Targets is a timed and rather challenging mode in which you must assassinate an unmarked target. If you die or they escape, too bad, you don’t get a second try.
Naturally, the idea of a permanent fail state ups the ante drastically, and will offer a meaty challenge to players who think themselves master assassins.
But enough of the bad news, lets move onto the good. Io Interactive just added two new Escalation Contracts and will keep on adding pairs of these through the release of the next episode in April.
The Osterman Mosaic challenges you with stabbing your target with a sabre while more challenging limitations are placed on you with each successive run. The Gemini Fiasco makes you dress as fashion model/spy Helmut Kruger, and you must use poison to dispatch your target.
