Some of you might have heard of Mass Effect 3, it was a bit of a popular game, wasn’t it? To say the ending was controversial is an understatement. Many gamers were left frustrated due to what they considered to be lackluster closure to the events they’d been through for the last 3 games (plus the DLC which game with them, such as the rather excellent Lair of the Shadowbroker). Other argued that it was a great way to end it, loving the openess.
Either way, On April of this year EA responded and announced they would release and extended cut ending. We know that the ending will be available June, 26th in North America, with a simultaneous release on both the Xbox 360 and PC, but the PS3 owners of ME3 will have to wait a little while longer, until July 4th.
We do know that it’ll be around 1.9GB in size, and provides more answers to the decisions you’ve made throughout the series:
“additional scenes and epilogue sequences. It provides more of the answers and closure that players have been asking for. It gives a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series. And it shows greater detail in the successes or failures based on how players achieved their endings.”
Bioware also added: “…an expansion of the original endings to Mass Effect 3” but “does not fundamentally change the endings, but rather it expands on the meaning of the original endings, and reveals greater detail on the impact of player decisions.”
It’s also suggested you load the a before the Cerberus mission and play through to the end of the game..
So who is looking forward to this one, and will the new ending please the fans? A few days and we’ll know!
