Mass Effect Andromeda is almost here, and fresh off the heels of the analysis by the developers into the benefits of checkboard rendering on the PS4 Pro, we have some screenshots of the game running on the upgraded Playstation 4.
These screens are thanks to well known industry insider shinobi602, who managed to get his hands on an early copy of Mass Effect Andromeda. Of course, us mere mortals have to wait until March 21st in North America or March 23rd in Europe.
He then shared the images of the gaming running in the improved resolution available on the Pro. You may recall how Mark Cerny said a while ago that the resolution of the game would be 1800p on the Pro, and the images from the GDC presentation on checkerboard rendering seemed to confirm this.

While it’s early days yet, of course, shinobi also shared some thoughts on the performance of the game: “First off the performance is great. I’m no Digital Foundry but it seems to hold a steady 30FPS 99% of the time. There was some slowdown during the very first planet I landed on (Habitat 7) because of some effects going on, but quickly went right back up. There were no slowdowns during firefights, biotics, shooting, or anything else like that which is great.”
