We all know that the feature of streaming Xbox One games to your PC is one of Microsoft’s flagship features for Windows 10, but Microsoft is also looking into streaming the other way around. Yes, streaming your PC games to your X1 console.
This comes from Mike Ybarra, who spoke to Polygon at GDC 2015. He also suggested that MS are looking into another feature, namely the ability for gamers to stream Xbox One games to a PC or tablet on a network that is not their home network.
Basically, this would allow you to log in to Xbox Live and stream your games over a wired or wireless network while you were away from your home.
This all sounds rather interesting, but my interest is mostly with the ability for you to stream Xbox One games to the PC. This service is probably the closest PC gamers are going to get to certain Xbox exclusives coming to the PC platform, like Halo 5. There’s still hope for Sunset Overdrive, but that doesn’t seem likely. Given that both Ryse and Dead Rising 3 have already made their way to the PC. Yes, they came out before it, but I would have thought that we would have heard rumblings regarding SO by now.
Oh well! This news is still really interesting, and I still really like the idea of being able to stream your Xbox games to a tablet or something like that, so you can still play your favorite games while on holiday. It’ll make family trips to the beach so much more interesting, eh? 😉
