A bunch of screenshots for Killer is Dead, Suda 51’s upcoming game, have been released online.
Goichi Suda, who is well known among gamers for making some of the strangest games available, will be serving as executive director for the Xbox 360 and PS3 release. This game is described as “a story of love and execution” set in the near future.
Suda has said that the game will retain the essence of both Killer 7 and No More Heroes, but will not be a direct sequel to either one.
Players will play the role of Mondo Zappa, whose goal is to execute various criminals from around the world. According to Siliconera, Mondo uses a sword called Gekkou (translated as Moonlight) that has the power to absorb the blood of his enemies, which will allow the player to deal out more damage and also chain attacks together in long combos.
The official blurb describes the game as –
“Killer is Dead is set in a not-so-distant future similar to (but not the same as) the world we know now. The player takes control of an executioner named Mondo Zappa who wields a Japanese sword in his right hand and brandishes interchangeable weapons in his left artificial arm. His ultimate goal is to execute various heinous criminals scattered around the world and beyond.”
