There is a juicy rumor going around, that the next Assassin’s Creed game will go by the name AC Victory and be set in Victorian London.
As mentioned, this is a RUMOR from Kotaku and is according to their sources. So as always take the screens / details here with a pinch of salt. According to the report, it will be helmed by Ubisoft Quebec, which would fall in line with Ubisoft Montreal’s plan to take a break from the franchise. Now, supposedly Kotaku is in possession of seven minutes of video, but has only posted a few screens at the time of writing.
The images, if they aren’t real, are extremely convincing fakes. The graphics look stunning, (as they are supposedly using the Anvil engine again), and the Synchronise image showing Big Ben gave me chills. The costume looks about right, and the images show off some nice details like the use of a grappling hook and the assassin changing his hood to a top hat in order to blend in.
I really, really, REALLY hope this is true. Victorian London is number two on my list of top AC settings (after feudal Japan) and to see it come to life would make me a very happy girl indeed! Plus it’s pretty damn rare that we see a game set on British shores, and I think the dark and grimy setting could work really nicely with the Assassin’s vs Templars battle.
Anyway, enough of me fangirling all over the place, feast your eyes on the screenshots in the gallery below.
