Just like any console as it gets closer to a public unveiling, Nintendo’s NX has been the subject of a lot of internet rumors and speculation. Also just like any console, a good percentage of those early rumors are just how powerful the new system is going to be.
Enter the newest Nintendo NX rumor to start circulating, this time from IndieGamerChick via her Twitter.
In a series of tweets, she commented on the alleged performance of Nintendo’s new machine, and also the potential control methods of the NX.
Guys, I don’t know anything about NX’s inputs except that there will be more than one option. I was clued in about it being powerful.
“All I know is that “more powerful than PS4/Xbone” is *technically* accurate, that it’s easy to develop for and optimized for gaming,” she began. “The controller reports are to the best of my knowledge bogus. The horsepower rumors are true.”
“I complained for years about the Wii U’s horsepower being the reason it failed, and a couple people clued me in that NX was powerful,” she added.
Regarding the Nintendo NX controller inputs she said “…I don’t know anything about NX’s inputs except that there will be more than one option. I was clued in about it being powerful.”
“I should clarify that. I was told there is “more than one way to control NX.” Not that there are multiple inputs.”
It is important to remember that these are rumors, and aren’t officially confirmed (and without verified sources), but with that said IndieGamerChick has been right previously. These include creation of the Shovel Knight Amiibo.
One consistent rumor throughout the NX’s production is that it would be easy to develop for, Nintendo supposedly learning the painful lessons of the Wii U (though one can argue they should have learned them from the Nintendo 64…).
We do know that the ‘leaks’ concerning the Nintendo NX’s controller proved to be fake (thankfully, since at least in my opinion they looked pretty awful), but what this will mean for the system’s final release remains to be seen.
It should be noted that Nintendo will be facing a pretty tough market, with both PC gaming surging, Virtual Reality taking hold, and recent news Sony are working on a Playstation 4k.
