Even though the official big reveal from Nvidia is still to come, we have had a metric ton of leaks regarding the RTX 2080Ti and RTX 2080, which are of course confirmed for Nvidia’s next generation Turing line up of graphics cards.
But, it’s not just the big boys who have suffered from leaks, as we now have specs and pricing leak for the RTX 2070 GPU. The card is confirmed to have 2304 CUDA cores (or 18 Turing SMs) compared to the 2944 CUDA cores (23 Turing SMs) of the RTX 2080.
What also may interest you is the amount of RAM, as we had previously heard rumours that this SKU would only have 7GB RAM, according to two sources of VideoCardz, it will have 8GB.
That’s all the information we have about the RTX 2070’s specifications, however would any RGT article or video be complete without a little speculation? (Answer: no). So, let’s speculate a little shall we?
Based on what we’ve heard, we can safely assume that this graphics card will have a 256-bit GDDR6 memory interface for a total of 448GB/s of bandwidth, assuming 14gbps memory. Assuming all this is true and accurate, we can expect the RTX 2070 to beat the GTX 1080 quite comfortably.
But, we also have some info on how much the RTX 2070 is going to set you back. According to AdoredTV, we are looking at anywhere between $200-500 US. My guess is, based upon the pricing of the GTX 1070, that we will see this card for roughly $400.
If I’m right on this, this is pretty insane value given that we can expect this GPU to outpace the GTX 1080 in terms of performance. Which of the RTX cards are you thinking of getting?
