Capcom’s official Twitter for Okami is teasing an announcement for next week.
The Tweet has been helpfully translated by Gematsu and reads as such;
“Hello, this is Okami news,” reads the tweet, which has been translated by Gematsu. “Sorry I’ve been kind of out of touch lately, but I have the feeling we’ll be able to drop a fresh announcement like WHAM! around the beginning of Golden Week, so please look forward to it. Right now we’re on track with preparations.”
Also, the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu is also teasing an announcement for next week, promising a reveal of a “new game to bring fans tears of happiness finally comes to life! A must-see!”” but this could be completely unrelated to Okami.
Golden Week, as some of you may know, is a pretty important holiday in Japan so it is entirely possible that this could be a very big announcement indeed. The optimist in me is hoping for Okami 2, carrying on the story of the original Okami, but a part of me knows that it could also just be another portable title or even another HD release of the original for the Wii U.
Fingers are crossed for Okami 2, though.
