PopCap has revealed that the amount of downloads for Plants Vs Zombies 2 has already surpassed the lifetime sales of the original game.
Since being launched globally on August 15, PopCap claims that the game has been downloaded nearly 25 million times. This rather awesome achievement was obviously helped along by the switch over to free to play, as the original was of course a paid app. This was obviously a huge boost for the sales of the game, and it’s no wonder that PvZ 2 has already smashed the lifetime sales figures of its predecessor.
PopCap has said that the game has been designed “from the ground up” as a “live service” with new worlds, levels, plants, zombies and new ways to play lined up to be released on an ongoing basis.
