Playstation 4 Operating System “Orbis” Info Revealed – Based on Free BSD 9.0
Amata 23rd June 2013 0 CommentsSome information has been revealed on the Playstation 4’s OS (known as the Orbis OS) and it’s development.
As mentioned above, the operating system is called The Orbis OS and is a modified version of FreeBSD 9.0. At the moment it remains unclear if this means we will once again be seeing the “Other OS” functions on the PS4, as we did on the Playstation 3. As I’m sure you will remember, this feature allowed gamers to install another OS to the system such as Linux or Windows.
When you boot up a second gen development kit, you will be prompted with several options as you will see in the images below, as was shown on VG Leaks.
