A new mandatory update for the PS4 is now available to download, the PlayStation Europe community manager Chris Owen, has revealed.
This is a far shout from a major update, in fact it’s very minor indeed and addresses some small stability issues. Chris Owen made a statement via Twitter, saying,
“PS4 firmware v1.61 is now live (mandatory) and provides general enhancements to the PS4 system’s stability. It’s a very minor update fixing mainly back end stuff.”
This patch is fairly hot on the heels of the 1.60 update, which was intended to add support for the PULSE wireless headset, as well as more improvements to stability, and finally, the option to mute the Playstation 4 Camera.
