There has been an advert in the UK newspaper the Metro which hints Sony’s Playstation 4 will indeed make an appearance in the UK sometime before the end of 2013.
The Metro advert had the text:
“Now is the time, the world’s greatest players are going to entertain, create and amaze on the ultimate stage. This year a new generation will push the boundaries of play and share in moments of wonder. This year players will become legends.”
Sony have told Eurogamer, when they asked for comment:
“We announced at the PlayStation Meeting event on Feb 20th that PS4 would be coming in 2013… the adverts are simply re-stating that message.”
So… it makes it sound like it was inevitable that the Playstation 4 would indeed be released in the UK for this year. Previously there were doubts, but recently Sony have gone on record and said that it believes that the UK and Europe as a whole is an important battleground. Furthermore, a source had said that it would “do whatever it takes” in regards to Europe. There has even been rumors and speculation from the Sony camp that they may reduce shipments to Japan, sacrificing what Sony consider to be a certain market, for Europe which is still so up for grabs.
