Resident Evil 7 has pushed the franchise in a rather different direction, switching from the traditional third-person to a more personalized (and VR friendly) first-person perspective. But, the game is still eagerly awaited by fans of the series (though I suspect a great many might have even more excited to see Resident Evil 2 Remake).
Capcom have taken the unusual step of releasing the specs for the PC version of Resident Evil 7 already, despite it not being released until early 2017. Best of all, Capcom have provided some insight into what the minimum and recommended PC specs for Resident Evil 7 will get you in terms of frame rate and graphics options.
Starting things out first with RE7’s minimum specs:
OS: WINDOWS 7,8,8.1,10 64-BIT
Processor: Intel Core i5-4460, 2.70GHz or AMD FX-6300 or better
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260x
DirectX: Version 11
Additional Notes: 1080P CPU/GPU at 30FPS Players will have to either lower texture or set streaming textures to OFF in order to optimize performance. *Internet connection required for game activation. The game is still undergoing development, so all PC requirements are subject to change.

You’ll notice a fairly beefy CPU is required, and you’ll need a rather generous amount of RAM to run RE7 – 8GB, but the rest of the requirements, including the GPU of a GTX 760 or an R7 260X are pretty reasonable.
Now onto Resident Evil 7’s recommended PC specs:
OS: WINDOWS 7,8,8.1,10 64-BIT
Processor: Intel Core i7 3770 3.4GHz or AMD or better
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon R9 280X or better
DirectX: Version 11
Additional Notes: “1080P CPU/GPU at 60FPS *Internet connection required for game activation. The game is still undergoing development, so all PC requirements are subject to change.”
The processor line is pretty badly worded, but we can assume “or AMD or better” would mean something like an FX-8350 processor. Judging from the brief description provided, a GTX 960 or similar is sufficient to put out enough performance to run the game at 1080P (we can assume with high graphics settings) at 60FPS.
Resident Evil 7 will see a release January, 2017 for the PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Pre-order the game on Amazon US here: Amazon UK here (affiliate links were we may receive a small commission).
