Yet more rumours have surfaced for the pricing RX 6600 and RX 6600 XT, which are expected to be announced by AMD on July 30th.
These new rumours on the price tag of the RX 6600 and RX 6600 XT are thanks to Neowin, who claim that according to their industry sources we are going to see an MSRP of $349 and $299 for the RX 6600 XT and RX 6600 respectively.
Obviously, the price for a GPU before launch can and does change on a dime, with prices fluctuating sometimes moments before the official reveal of the graphics card. So even more than usual, take any price rumours with a fistful of salt. Interestingly, though, Neowin also claims that AMD did originally consider a higher MSRP of $369 but decided against it as that would put the card too close to the RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti.
You may have also seen the reports coming out of Cowcotland recently, which claimed that we could see prices as high as $588 for the 6600 XT. Personally, I have a huge amount of skepticism about this particular rumour, especially considering that the MSRP of the RX 6700 XT was $479. Even with the current extremely scuffed state of GPU prices, I’m pretty sure that AMD would get crucified for giving the 6600 XT a higher MSRP than a higher end card in the same stack.
Moving away from pricing, however, Neowin also had some details to share on the specifications of the RX 6600 XT. According to their information, the 6600 XT will feature a full Navi 23 GPU with 32 CUs, 2048 Stream Processors and will come equipped with 8GB GDDR6 RAM on a 128-bit bus.
