Nintendo have officially revealed a special version of the 3DS XL featuring Pikachu, which will probably end up being a rare find in the future, just like their Pikachu N64.
The Pikachu themed 3DS XL (3DS LL in Japan) will apparently only be sold via the Pokemon Center store in Japan, which is very sad news for us Westerners. The Pokemon Center will apparently only sell the console to pre order holders, which they will begin taking on September 14.
There isn’t any information at the moment as to whether or not this will be sold in pre-defined limited numbers or if it will simply stay in stock for a set period. But, the price is the same as the normal price of 18,900 so I’m sure we will see more than a few popping up on Ebay soon enough.
That’s probably the closest those of us outside Japan will get to owning this puppy, as I highly doubt Nintendo could be convinced to sell this outside of Japan.
