You may have seen some time ago, that the very highly rated Steins;Gate visual novel was making it’s way to consoles in the West on PS3 and PS Vita, and now we have a confirmation of the European release date.
Obviously, it’s been available for a while in English on the PC, but we are now only just seeing a confirmation of when those of us in the EU will get it on console. According to Siliconera, it will be releasing on June 5 for PS3 and PS Vita.
I bet those of you in the US are sitting there wondering, “what about us?” Unfortunately, it looks like the Americans will have to wait a little while, as Geraint Evans, who is the head of marketing at PQube said this will speaking to Rice Digital;
“…the US version is still in submission – for a second it was looking like we would have to make a change to the game, and obviously this is something we did not want to do. Thankfully Steins;Gate will remain intact. We’ll update on release timings when it exits Sony submission in the US”.
So there you have it! Hopefully the US release won’t be too far behind the European one, but at least now we know when console owners will be able to get their hands on this.
