The season pass for Sunset Overdrive, one of the new gen’s more interesting titles, will feature two new campaign packs and multiple new weapons, abilities and outfits.
As is generally the case, buying the season pass for $19.99 will net you a bit of a saving over just buying each DLC desperately, which will be roughly 20% saved. As I mentioned in the title (could you sense my disapproval from there? I hope so), the season pass will also have bonus items which will be awarded at launch exclusively to season pass holders.
Below you can find the full details of the pack:
- Two campaign Game Add-ons that each deliver new locations to explore, stories to experience, and bosses to battle. Each of these Add-ons also includes new weapons, new Amps, a new Trap, new character outfits as well as new challenges and Chaos Squad objectives!
- The Weapons Pack Game Add-on, which includes four deadly new weapons to augment your arsenal!
- BONUS – six character outfits, two Amps and two Traps to use as soon as the game is released
Sigh. Isn’t it enough that we have content locked behind pre order walls, certain retailers and even your choice of gaming platform? Now, if you want the complete experience, you have to drop a total of $80, and that’s IF you didn’t drop for an expensive collector’s edition. Yes, the content isn’t exactly game changing, just a few items, but that isn’t the point.
I understand the idea of rewarding those who buy your season pass, so by all means launch the items to them FIRST, but don’t give it to them exclusively. You care about your other customers too, right, Insomniac?
Don’t get me wrong, I will still be playing this game, and I will undoubtedly have a blast, but this has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. It also, if I am honest, makes me a bit tired. Gamers are already being rinsed five ways from sunday, and now this? Please don’t give EA ideas.
