A few short days ago there was speculation that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 would have paid DLC for launch
Harada has stated that that this is not the case, and everything would be totally for free for Tekken Tag Tournament’s 2 launch
On Harada’s twitter, he responded to the leaked list which appeared on Xbox Live and made a fairly lengthy clarification.
“I’ll say again.
CHARACTERS DLC are FREE,
STAGES DLC are FREE,
SWIMSUITS are FREE,
Extra COSTUME are FREE,
and If you buy New copy,
Online pass are FREE for Console system, It works for MULTIPLE ACCOUNT = You don’t need buy extra pass for your Brothers or Sisters or Parents. and all offline mode = No need pass.
It’s NOT EXTRA CHARGE system for new copy of TTT2.
and I’ll add more DLC Characters & Stages and On-line additional capability DLC / UPDATE, BUT It will be FREE.
If it is still dissatisfied for you, We need to quit development of a game.”
With such level of clarification it shows that Harada is obviously taking a dig at certain ‘other’ companies who routinely charge as much as possibly (at least seemingly) for their DLC. Harada with this has shown that Namco’s Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is not going to be following the same lines. It’s certainly something Capcom should be taking note of, as they are one of the more notorious companies when it comes to on launch DLC.
