The director of the recently released The Division has joined the Hitman developer Io Interactive.
Io Interactive revealed that the director, Ryan Barnard, will be serving as the gameplay director for the studio.
“Ryan will focus on expanding on the near-endless possibilities of gameplay that a game like Hitman possesses,” Io stated. “This means heading up the future efforts of three of our very core teams – gameplay, online and world – which will be no small task. Ryan’s contributions to game design over the years show he’s the ideal person to spearhead the coming efforts. We are very happy to add his talent to the pool of great people working at IOI.”
They also noted that Ryan will be joining a team of 170 people who are currently working on Hitman’s episodic release.
This is certainly an interesting turn, as even though there have been complaints regarding The Division’s combat mechanics, many have been praising the overall story, world and characters. So it seems that Hitman is certainly in experienced hands.
