The Evil Within – New Screens Invoke Memories Of Pyramid Head

The Evil Within has had a fresh batch of screenshots released, mostly focusing on Boxman, who reminds me (and probably everyone else)  very strongly of Pyramid Head.

We are also treated to the sight of the game’s protagonist, Detective Sebastian Castellanos, fighting to close a heavy metal door before Boxman can reach him. I doubt this is intentional, but Sebastian’s outfit is giving me strong Booker DeWitt vibes.

The Boxman is not only a callback to Silent Hill 2’s legendary monster, it also gives nods to the Chainsaw Man from Resident Evil 4, and even John DeFoe from Yahtzee Croshaw’s Trilby series. But that last one might just be me.
