Another fairly weak one for me, but there are a couple of good deals in today’s Steam Summer Sale, so let’s take a look at what is and isn’t worth your hard earned cash.
Wargame: European Escalation (£14.99 – 50% off!)
This is not a strategy game that I am personally familiar with, but it has a fairly decent metacritic score of 81/100 and seems to be fairly highly recommended. However, the price is a bit steep by Steam sale standards, so you may want to do your research before parting with your money.
Limbo (£1.74 – 75% off!)
A very unique puzzle platformer, and definitely worth the ridiculously cheap price. The graphics style is monotone, but still drenches the game in a very lonely atmosphere along with the perfect use of sound. This game is a corker, and well deserving of the praise it gets. If you are at all into platformers, you’d be mad not to check it out.
Stronghold 3 Gold Edition (£8.49 – 66% off!)
CrimsonRayne actually covered this one in a first impressions review for our channel, so if you want a proper impression of the game I would say start there. Opinions on this seem a little mixed, and for the price, I would say that you should definitely give the video a look see if you’re unsure about this Strategy game.
Grand Theft Auto Complete Collection (£4.99 – 75% off!)
This is an absolutely insane deal, and one that is tempting me every time I look at it. You get every single game in the franchise for this, even the latest title Grand Theft Auto 4. That’s seven stellar games for £5. What are you waiting for?
Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012 (2.49 – 90% off!)
I like trains….
But seriously. What is there to say about this? I have obviously never played the wonder that is Train Simulator 2012, and I doubt many people out there have done as well.
Company of Heroes Complete Pack (£6.73 – 75% off!)
You have all three action strategy titles included in this pack, so it seems like a fairly decent deal if you’re into this sort of thing. It has a rather nice metacritic score of 97/100 on the first title, so this may just be worth picking up.
Call of Duty: Black Ops (£19.99 – 50% off!)
I doubt there is a single gamer alive who needs to be told about this game. It’s Call of Duty, a legend amongst FPS that still manages to be expensive after a half price reduction.
Spec Ops: The Line (£20.09 – 33% off!)
Again, this is something that Crimson has covered for his channel, so check that out first. However I do know that he rates this quite highly indeed and says that “it’s not just another brown cover based shooter”. You may think that this game is a little pricey, but it was not released all that long ago, so you are getting a pretty good deal here.
Indie Bundle VI (£6.99 – 75% off!)
And finally, we are finishing off with another indie bundle. Again this one is a weak pack for me, but it’s still a pretty decent deal with again, five games included for basically seven pounds. There’s not much point in getting any of the games individually, unless it’s DEFCON or Trauma, which are each about £2 roughly, so you may just want to pick this up. Games included are AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! for the Awesome!, DEFCON, SpaceChem, Ticket to Ride, and Trauma.
