July 14 Today Deals on Steams Summer Sale are to me a little poorer this time, but it does have Skyrim!
Not all deal days are created equally, and I personally think this is the weakest of the 3 days so far. It does have Elderscrolls: Skyrim though at a pretty damn good price, so without further delay, let’s take a look at the list shall we?
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -50% (now £17.37)
Come on, it’s Skyrim – I’m pretty sure most of you know about this RPG by now. It’s one of the few games you can say that you can literally pick flowers for 50 hours just because, or put a bucket over someone’s head. All kidding aside, I think if you’ve somehow missed this gem now is your perfect chance to pick it up. There are oddles of free mods for it, and with DLC coming out soon then that’s even better!
Indie Bundle 3 -75% (now £6.99)
I personally really like this Indie Bundle’s contents, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is a particular gem, and Bunch of Heroes and of course Braid are damn good titles in their own right. For the price of the bundle, you might as well not bother to pick up a single game. I can’t say much more than check out my gameplay of Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet on the RGT channel!
Orcs Must Die -75% (now £2.99)
As I mentioned in my video on today’s deals, I don’t think I’ve seen a recent Steam sale without this title included. It’s not bad, but really isn’t my personal cup of tea, if you will. The idea is basically set traps and actively fight to fend of invading Orc armies (as they don’t like you, or something.)
Borderlands -75% (now £4.99)
I’ve nothing against Borderlands, it’s a good looking and fun looking title – but with the sequel so close around the corner it might not be worth buying this one. Still, for the price I suppose it’s a cheap sneak peak to if you’ll want the second on release.
Two Worlds II -75% (now £4.99)
While this isn’t an awful title by any means, it certainly isn’t Skyrim, so if you’ve got a choice between the two, it’s fairly easy, Bethesda win out. If you’ve a hankering for more RPG action and you’re a bit stuck for an idea what to get, you could be worse served. Graphically it’s okay, but the game certainly doesn’t live up to the expectations set for it.
Dead Island -66% (now£6.79)
Speaking of doesn’t live up to the expectations, Dead Island had perhaps one of the most moving trailers ever released… and we thought it was going to be pretty special. As it was, it turned out to be good, but not great. It’s pretty enough, you can’t use the graphics as a bad point for sure, I personally think it’s one of the more visually appealing games I’ve seen in a while (more so the scenery, the models are a little better than average) but the gameplay is somewhat like Left 4 Dead, unless less manic. I’d suggest it if you’re into Zombies, or just fun… it’s not badly priced by any means.
Tropico 4 -75% (now £6.24)
Not a terribly reviewed game, but I personally never was left interested in it, graphics are fair, but not astounding. If you’re looking for this type of game you could certainly do far worse, but also could do better too.
Dirt Showdown -50% (now £14.99)
I’ve not played this one, but while checking out some reviews it seems to rate fairly average. I’d suggest doing some further reading up on this one before making your decision, even if it’s not a bad looker.
Frozen Synapse -80% (now £3.79)
A very good price for this tactical game, and I doubt you’ll be seeing it cheaper for a good while. Most likely worth picking up, if you’re into these type of games.
