In a recent report from Venture Beat, they have claimed that Xbox and Kojima have reached a crucial point in their ongoing talks to secure a publishing agreement.
According to their souces, Xbox and Hideo Kojima have signed a letter of intent, that essentially states that both parties will be working out the details for a future Xbox title from Kojima. This is a crucial step in the process of securing a publishing deal, and it shows that both Xbox and Kojima are happy to work with each other but the finer details have yet to be hashed out by their legal teams.
The reports that Xbox would be working with Kojima on an Xbox title have been circulating for quite some time, but they have now progressed to a more serious stage.
Given that talks are still progressing, there are no details at all on the project itself, however Kojima did recently state that he would be interested in exploring cloud technology in some way.
Xbox, of course, is very keen to push the cloud as part of the Xbox ecosystem with Xcloud now out and available to the public, so this could be an interesting direction for Kojima to pursue.
Given that Kojima has some, let’s say, unique ideas when it comes to gameplay, story, and mechanics, there a ton of possibilities for what he could deliver to Xbox. Naturally, as soon as more information becomes available the speculation can truly begin.
