The Xbox One had a few missing features when it launched, and the King of them all had to be the inability to work out how much hard drive space you were using, because the console just did not tell you.
Now it looks as if this oddity is being patched out in an upcoming update, which is due out on February 11. As well as adding the ability to see an indicator which will tell them how much HDD space they are currently using, this update is adding a few other goodies. Namely, a battery indicator for the Xbox One controller and USB keyboard compatibility. All I can say is: finally! I couldn’t have been the only one who thought it was absolutely bonkers that the abiltity to monitor your hard drive space was missing from the original build.
You can see an example of the controller functionality below.
There will also be another update heading our way on March 4, which will be in preparation for the launch of the mighty TitanFall.
“This is the first of many announcements and sneak peeks at features in the system updates. We’ve been carefully listening to your feedback and look forward to delivering many new features that will make Xbox One even better. We’re just getting started and can’t wait to share more information in the coming weeks.”
